Since June 2010, the controlling shareholder of Octo Telematics is Montezemolo & Partners SGR SpA through Fondo Charme II, which owns 60% of the company's shares. Other shareholders are MetaSystem Group SpA with 30% and Telematica Finanziaria, Srl with 10%.

The company won the European tender, launched by ISVAP (The Italian Insurance Supervisory Authority), for the ‘Check Box' project, Europe's first governmental research trial assessing the benefits of implementing a telematics system to monitor driving distances and accident probability.
