OCTO Telematics Launches New Telematics Solutions for Commercial Lines Insurance and Partners with TruckerCloud to Expand Data and Insights
Partnership combines OCTO’s high-precision in-vehicle installed telematics solutions with TruckerCloud’s leading commercial auto insurance telematics data platform.
BOSTON and ATLANTA – September 28, 2026 – OCTO, a global leader in telematics data analytics, and TruckerCloud, the leading commercial auto insurance telematics data platform, today announced a strategic partnership to accelerate telematics adoption across the US Commercial Auto market.
Concurrently, OCTO is launching a line of high-granularity, in-vehicle installed telematics solutions purpose-built for Commercial Insurers. OCTO’s hardware delivers accurate DriveAbility® risk scoring, already approved for Commercial line in about 35 US States, alongside instant crash detection and reconstruction for FNOL and claims cost reductions. The solution also includes a complimentary driver coaching and rewards mobile application, enabling fleet managers to monitor driving behavior, promote safety, and incentivize drivers through monetary rewards.
Through this partnership, OCTO’s proprietary DriveAbility® Score can be integrated directly into the TruckerCloud platform for fleet vehicles, class 1-6, using OCTO’s telematics solutions. The joint offering provides insurers and fleets streamlined access to actionable telematics data, driver risk insights, and underwriting support through a single ecosystem.
TruckerCloud connects heavy-vehicle fleets to roughly 200 ELD, camera, and telematics systems through its normalization platform, and offers FleetFile, its own crash risk score for heavy-duty lines. By pairing this broad reach with OCTO’s granular data analytics and crash intelligence for Commercial vehicles Classes 1–6, the collaboration bridges the gap between the heavy vehicles fleet already connected with the 2/3 of remaining lighter fleet vehicles that are today not connected, the Class 1-6.
Commercial Auto insurers using TruckerCloud can now leverage OCTO’s solutions for Class 1–6 vehicles fleets to enhance risk segmentation, underwriting and claims cost reductions.

In his new role, Torello will join OCTO’s Leadership Team and will be responsible for driving the Group’s technology strategy, accelerating the evolution of its proprietary platform, the development of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics solutions, and the company’s innovation roadmap in support of international growth.

After an initial career in research, he joined the Fiat Group, where he contributed to the development of strategic programs focused on process digitalization, connected vehicle services, and the software transformation of the business. Throughout his career, he has held positions of increasing international responsibility, including Vice President ICT Dealer Solutions & CRM, Head of ICT Connected Vehicles EMEA, and Software Director for Transformation, Performance & Strategy at Stellantis.
Since 2024, he has also supported Leapmotor International, the global joint venture between Stellantis and Leapmotor, serving as ICT Leader and non-executive Board Member.
