    Nicola Veratelli is Chief Executive Officer at Octo, the leading global insurance telematics provider, delivering analytics and connected car solutions to the automotive industry as well as to the large car rental and fleet sectors.

    Prior to joining Octo, Nicola Veratelli served as Senior Vice President Operations & Supply Chain Hertz International, based in London.

    A leader with a wide international background, having worked in multinational companies mostly abroad, Nicola has demonstrated remarkably versatile change management skills.

    He is an inspiring leader across his areas of responsibility and a thought-leader in the areas of quality, profitability, and efficiency. He will continue to move the company from a compliance-based system to a performance-based system.

    Nicola’s past experiences include Rio Tinto Alcan, Eaton Corporation, Basell, GlaxoSmithKline.

    He is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt.

    Giuseppe Zuco

    Giuseppe Zuco is the Chief Mobility Executive Officer at our Group and until 2015, he was the Chief Information Officer, a post he held since joining Octo S.p.A. as a co-founder in 2002. Mr. Zuco graduated from the Sapienza University of Rome with a degree in Physics in 1996. From 1985 to 1996, Mr. Zuco consulted for Telettra S.p.A. Mr. Zuco worked at Viasat S.p.A from 1995 to 2002, where he was in charge of Research and Development of Viasat Terminals.

    Nunzio Calì

    Nunzio Calì comes from a long career in the field of Information Technology, with 15 years of experience in the Fiat Group, where he was CIO Fiat Powertrain Technologies and CIO Fiat Group Purchasing to then take on the role of Deputy CIO Fiat Group Automobiles.

    Prior to his appointment in Octo, Nunzio Calì was CTO & CIO (Deputy General Manager) for AlmavivA SpA, a leading Italian company operating globally in information technology and outsourcing services, realizing some of the most important programs of Digital Transformation for large Italian companies both in the public and private sectors. Simultaneously, he was also General Manager of ADT (Almaviva Digitaltech), a company founded in Naples in 2017 to support the AlmavivA Group in the development of digital solutions.

    Laura Brambilla

    Laura Brambilla has a long international experience within leading multinational telecommunications and engineering Companies. Prior to joining Octo, she held the position of CFO EMIA of AECON, a leader in the engineering sector, listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Laura Graduated from the Catholic University of Milan in 1998 with a degree in Economics. She began her professional career at Alcatel Italia, where she held a brilliant career until 2016.

    After an appointment as head of the Treasury, in 2006 she became Business Management Director and stayed within this role until 2010 covering also the whole Mediterranean area. Simultaneously, she was also named Integration Program Leader during the merger process between Alcatel and Lucent. Then, in 2010, she was appointed CFO for Italy, and then for the Mediterranean Region, the Western Region and finally EMEA.

    Gionata Tedeschi

    Gionata Tedeschi joined Octo Group in 2018 as Chief Product Portfolio and Ecosystem Officer. Over the years from 1990 to 2017 Mr. Tedeschi supported global organizations (including automotive, banking, insurance, media, retail and utilities) in their digital value-creation strategies and their transformation journeys.

    During his career he has workedat McKinsey, Dun&Bradstreet and Accenture, and has been Founder – acting as Manging Director/or President – of 3 companies: Affinion Italy (previously CIMS), Born4shop-Saldi Privati and Buongiorno (B2B division). Gionata Tedeschi after graduating cum laude in 1987 at Bocconi University, has spent most of his professional career across Italy, UK, France and Israel.

    Claudia Ricchetti

    Claudia Ricchetti starts her career in Cerved, a data and solutions provider, assisting the General Counsel on a wide variety of issues, an experience which subsequently is followed by a short consultancy assignment with Ernst & Young. 

    She takes her first full responsibility as General Counsel in Cecchi Gory Communications where she develops strong competences in the media sector being in charge of a wide variety of issues including several corporate finance transactions such as securitizations.
    After a short assignment as General Counsel of Seat Pagine Gialle, in 2003 she joins Lottomatica, which in the following years develops from a mainly domestic company to the leader at global level in the gaming industry. 

    During her twelve years with IGT (previously Lottomatica and Gtech), now headquartered in the US, she coordinated the legal part of an impressive variety of transactions, like the acquisition of IGT itself and its delisting and its new IPO, as well as many bond issues and M&A transactions. In this position she coordinated a team of 25 people of which 8 where based outside of Italy.

    In 2015 Claudia felt ready for a new challenge and joined Anas, she initiated a very tough reorganization of her function, which has a headcount of 200 people and had to deal with multiple challenges, with a focus on litigation, corporate affairs and compliance.
    From April 2019 up to the entrance in Octo, Claudia became the external counsel for 2 companies, the first one operating in the NPL sector and the second one in the Infrastructure sector.

    In addition, Claudia served as a board member in many companies and she still is independent director in a company listed in the STAR Stock Exchange MTA.
    She actively promotes women and their involvement in politics and management and is founder of the Roman Chapter of EWMD a European Association of Women.   

    Edwin M. Colella

    Edwin M. Colella joined Octo in 2015, as Vice President of Special Projects and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer in Omoove.
     
    His career started in 1986 at the Department of Defence, working alongside the Defence Minister. In 1997 he moved to KPMG where he worked as Senior Manager Consultant, and afterwards to Ferrari S.p.A. in 2006, appointed as Global Marketing Director, where he stayed for more than 6 years. Prior to join Octo, from 2012 to 2014, he was the Global Director of Communication at IWC Schaffhausen.
     
    Over the years, his working experience has been enriched by his participation at KPI6 for intelligent social media data management, Exprimo communication agency and SolBridge International School of Business, performing the roles of Investor, Advisor and Member of Corporate Advisor Council.

    Carla Cianfriglia

    Carla Cianfriglia has served as Group Chief HR & Organization Officer for our Group since 2013. Ms.Cianfriglia graduated in 1993 from the Sapienza University of Rome with a degree in Economics. She started her career in 1994 as a financial advisor in Audit and M&A at Reconta Ernst & Young S.p.A. and she joined Pfizer Italia Srl in 1998. Subsequently, she received her Executive MBA from INSEAD in 2002 and a Masters in Micro and Macro Organization, People Management, Labor and Union Law from University of Rome Tor Vergata in 2006.

    From 2007 to 2008, she worked in HR Organization and Change Management at AstraZeneca Italia. Subsequently, from 2008 to 2013, she was Head of Learning, Development & HR Governance at Barclays Bank plc. Ms. Cianfriglia also taught courses in Organization, People Management and Labor Law at the University Tor Vergata in Rome from 2007 to 2011.

    Fabrizio Tomassetti

    Fabrizio Tomassetti joined Octo as Vice President Global Sourcing after a long career in Strategic Sourcing.
    He holds a business degree in Industrial Engineering and a Master degree in Business Adminstration.
     
    Prior to Join Octo, he spent 8 years in Hertz International.
    At the beginning as EU Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager, becoming Director of the European Procurement the following year.
    Over the last 3 years in Hertz International Fabrizio served as Senior Director Europe Procurement, Real Estate and Facilities.
     
    He started his career in Toyota Motor Logistic dpt and then he covered global senior purchasing roles in General Motors FIAT Worldwide Purchasing, FIAT Auto and Alstom Transport.

    Alessio Calisti

    Alessio Calisti joined Octo in May 2018. He spent his up-to-now career serving Customer value in Telcos, Media, Retail and Technology Companies. In Telecom Italia since 1995, then, from 1999, partecipating to Infostrada start-up and later on in Wind, working for Wholesale and Top&Large Customer Commercial Area; in 2002 he turned to Consumer market arena acquiring significant experience in Customer Experience Transformation, Customer Base Marketing and Customer Operations activities.

    From 2008 to 2012 he started up Mediaset Premium, building the Company from zero to 2 million customers as responsible for the entire Customer lifcycle in terms of operations and value generation. In 2013-2014, as a Senior Advisor of Long Term Partners, he was the project leader of a huge transformation project in Ferrero Germany, joining Poste Italiane in 2014 to lead the Group Customer Centricity transformation project and then as Director of Customer Experience.

    Sir John Wilfred Peace

    Sir John Wilfred Peace has been on our Board since April 2017.

    Sir John Wilfred Peace graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and joined GUS plc in 1970, where he held several senior IT management positions. In 1980, Sir John co-founded CCN Systems (which later became Experian plc) and served as its chief executive.

    In 2000, he became Group CEO of GUS plc, of which Experian and Burberry were part. In 2002, Sir John was appointed chairman of Burberry Group plc, a position he currently holds. In 2006, Sir John was appointed chairman of Experian following the demerger of GUS plc, a position he held until stepping down in 2014. Sir John joined the board of Standard Chartered as deputy chairman in 2007 and became the chairman in 2009. He also chairs the Nottingham Economic Growth Board and for 10 years he was Chairman of the Board of Governors of Nottingham Trent University. He has been a Trustee of the Djanogly City Academy in Nottingham since 1999.

    He was knighted in 2011 for services to business and the voluntary sector. He has been appointed Lord-Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire since July 2012. Sir John is a Member of Companions of Chartered Management Institute and a Fellow of Royal Society of Arts. He has an Honorary Doctorate from The University of Nottingham.

    Fabio Sbianchi

    Fabio Sbianchi is the founder of Octo and he has been on the board of directors of the company since our formation in 2002.

    He graduated from the Sapienza University of Rome with a degree in Political Science and started his career in 1989 as a Project Manager for the Civil Registry Council of the Municipality of Rome. From 1992 to 1994, he worked as a Parliamentary Assistant at the Italian Chamber of Deputies and in 1995 he founded Tecnicom where he stayed on as Managing Partner until 1997. He then joined Viasat, working first as Project Manager of the ‘‘Viasat GSM’’ system, and then subsequently as Technical and Operational Director.

    Derek Whitworth

    Derek Whitworth has been on our board of directors since 2002.

    He graduated from Imperial College London with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. In 1981 he joined Rolls-Royce PLC as a Manufacturing Manager where he stayed until 1993, when he moved to Tomkins PLC as a Manufacturing Director for Hattersley Heaton. From 1996 to 2002, he worked for TRW Aeronautical Systems, initially as Operations General Manager, Engine Control and then as Vice President, Customer Satisfaction & Quality.

    In 2002, he left to join Pall Corp, as the VP of Operations for the Industrial Division. Subsequently, from 2005 to 2012, he was CEO and President of TMD Friction. In 2012, he became Operating Partner of Pamplona Capital Management where he works presently.

    Marco Musetti

    Marco Musetti joined the Octo Board in 2017.

    Marco Musetti served as Deputy Head of Metals Desk for Banque Bruxelles Lambert (Suisse) S.A., Geneva (Switzerland), from 1992 to 1998, and he worked for Banque Cantonale Vaudoise in Lausanne as Head of Metals and Structured Finance Desk from 1998 to 2000. Mr. Musetti was COO and deputy CEO of Aluminium Silicon Marketing GmbH, Zug (Switzerland), from 2000 to 2007. From 2007 till 2018, he was an Investment Director at Renova Management AG. Marco Musetti has been a member of the Board of Directors of Sulzer AG, Winterthur (Switzerland), since 2011 and a member of the Board of Directors of Schmolz and Bickenbach AG, Switzerland, since 2013 and a member of the Board of Directors of United Company Rusal Plc, Hong Kong (China), since 2016.

    Marco Musetti has a master’s degree in management from the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) and a Master of Science in accounting and finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science (United Kingdom).

    Pekka Viljakainen

    Mr. Pekka A. Viljakainen joined the Octo board in 2018.

    Mr. Pekka A. Viljakainen was born in Finland in 1972. For 25 years, he worked as an ambassador between business executives and technology teams. He is widely known by his nickname, Bulldozer, which he earned while handling complex governance and political topics inside large international organizations.

    Mr. Viljakainen started as an entrepreneur in 1986 by establishing Oy Visual Systems Ltd., which merged with TietoEnator in 2000. He is now a member of the Strategic Board of the Russian Postal Service and the Supervisory Board of PAO “Pochta Bank”. He is also Chairman of the Board of “Skolkovo – Ventures Investments” and “ZYFRA”.

    Since 2012, Mr. Viljakainen is acting as senior advisor for the president of the Skolkovo Foundation. He is also a founder and advisor of several nationwide entrepreneurship programs in the Russian Federation, such as the international conference Startup Village.

    He is also a well-known supporter and philanthropic in several areas related to education, classical music and social projects. His hobbies include helicopter flying PPL(H), cross country skiing, weightlifting and triathlon.

    Marco Lippi

    Marco Lippi has been on our board of directors since 2014.

    Marco Lippi graduated from the University of Pisa with a degree in Economics in 1985 and subsequently received an MBA from Columbia Business School in 1989. Mr. Lippi began his career as a financial analyst in IBM’s Milan offices from 1985 through 1987. In 1989 he joined Morgan Stanley in the mergers and acquisitions department in New York and later in London. In 1999, he became a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley. In 2004, he joined BNP Paribas as Managing Director where he headed Italy’s Corporate Finance division and was a member of the Global Corporate Finance Operating Committee in Paris. In 2007, he became an Advisory Director at Strategic Value Partners, a private equity and hedge fund, where he remained until 2010.

    In addition, in 2007, he founded Network Capital Partners, an advisory company to private equity funds. Since 2010 he has been an Operating Partner at Pamplona Capital Management and he was appointed Partner of Pamplona Capital Management LLP in 2015. He also served as a Director of Ferretti International Holding S.p.A. and Ferretti S.p.A. from 2012 until 2016 and as a Director of Alpitour S.p.A. from 2012 and 2018.

    David Metzger

    David Metzger joined the Octo Board in 2014.

    David Metzger serves as Managing Director Investments of Witel AG, Zurich, Switzerland. Prior to Witel AG, David Metzger worked for Good Energies, a highly renowned renewable energy fund, where he was an investment executive and also served as CFO and Board Member of several portfolio companies. Before Good Energies, he was a senior manager at Bain & Company, focusing on strategy and private equity. David Metzger is also a member of the board of OC Oerlikon Corporation AG. David Metzger holds a Master’s degree in Business Economics from the University of Zurich, Switzerland, and an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France.
